MOU Signing - UTM and Return 2 Green

UTMBacTec research group based in Chemistry Department, Faculty of Science, represented by the Dean (Prof. Madzlan Aziz) and UTM Vice-Chancellor (Prof. Dato' Ir. Dr. Zaini Ujang) today signed an MOU with Return 2 Green Sdn. Bhd. represented by its Chairman, Tan Sri Dato' Dr. Yahya Awang. Those present were reprentatives from both sides, Bionexus, and including chemistry staff, Prof. Dr. Wan Aini Wan Ibrahim (KJK), Prof. Dr Salasiah Endud, Prof. Dr. Wan Azlina Ahmad (UTMBacTec group leader), Dr Zainoha Zakaria (member of UTMBacTec), and the Press. May this great event be successfully accomplished.

This MOU focuses on the application of pigments extracted from locally isolated bacteria as colorants for biodegradable packaging materials at pilot-scale level. The role of Return 2 Green Sdn Bhd is to offer technical and operation expertise and an economical feasibility will be evaluated at the end of the collaboration in view of commercialization of this porcess developed by UTM.
